Autumn Perfection

Hi lovelies, I can't believe it has been nearly a month since I have posted up anything! I have been so busy lately, I have hardly any time to be inspired, to sit down and just enjoy the days that I am given! With fall officially here and the weather slowly transitioning I am finding myself slowing down a bit, this season is always one that I want to soak up for everything it is worth...the spice scented fragrance that fills the air, the fresh baked warmth that the kitchen brings, the changing leaves, pumpkin patches and apple trees...I could go on and on! Today I have a lovely fall table scape for you and an Autumn inspiration board that will have you dreaming of a cozy and simple life and recipes for you to scent your home with~

Before we go any further, here is a recipe for the lovely little maple leaf cookies pictured above~

Ginger Crisps

This recipe will yield plenty of cookies, which you may not need right away. Roll unused dough into logs, wrap well, and freeze for up to one month.

Total Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 8 min Oven Temp: 350
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup molasses
2/3 cups light corn syrup
4 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
Beat butter and sugars together, using a mixer on medium speed, until light and fluffy. Beat in molasses and corn syrup until well combined. Add in the remaining ingredients and stir until a smooth dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
Roll out on a lightly floured surface to less than 1/8-inch thick. Cut with floured cutters. Bake on greased cookie sheet for 8 minutes.

This is the perfect autumn table scape, and the perfect excuse to host a party in honor of this lovely season!

In case you were wondering, that delicious drink is called Irish Coffee, it would perfectly compliment the Ginger cookies above and make for the perfect little afternoon snack~

{irish coffee}
2 1/2 oz strong, hot coffee
1 1/2 oz irish whiskey
1 tsp brown sugar
1 oz whipping cream
hot caramel for the rim

Pour hot caramel into a low, open bowl and roll the rim of an Irish coffee mug in the caramel. Pour the coffee, Irish whiskey and brown sugar into the mug and stir. Float the whipping cream on top and enjoy!

So little lovelies, enjoy this season to the fullest, take advantage of all it has to offer and don't forget that you are never to old to go to the pumpkin patch and pick out your perfect pumpkin~
